Making Olympic History
On Day 3 of the third Canadian Olympics I got to witness our first gold medal on home soil while having a beer at the Irish House. Watching a thousand people at once realize we one gold in the men moguls was an amazing thing to see. Cheering and hugging with strangers that instantly felt like your family. Whether you were canadian or not everyone was excited for Alexandre Bilodeau and Canada. This is what the olympics are all about uniting the world around some amazing sports.

I stand transfixed staring at this streetlight
The Olympics are officially in full swing, and day one was a world wind of events. Even though my scalping cheap tickets to the opening ceremonies didn't pan out watching them in a crowded bar only blocks away was almost as thrilling. As Canada paraded in to the stadium the entire bar leapt up out of their seats and began chanting "canada, canada" and cheering at the top of their lungs, so loud that i think those at BC place could hear us. My heart if filled with pride for our beautiful country and can't wait to participate in the rest of this life changing event.
